Drought tolerant annual; full sunlight. Bright yellow-orange flowers bloom February to May and are easily recognized in dotted patches on desert hillsides following warm, wet winters. A close relative of California poppy, this species is smaller, more drought hardy and yields flowers more yellow than orange.
