Carex vulpinoidea Fox sedge

Cool season, tall standing, native perennial grows in clumps. Found along edges of open water, on a moist open ground, and in standing water in swamps, swales, lowland forests and wet ditches. Very widely distributed across much of the U.S. Acts as a pioneer species following land disturbance. Can be aggressive in some wetland habitats.
