Atriplex obovata New Mexico saltbush

Drought resistant sub-shrub that grows to 1 ft. in height with silver colored and obovate shaped deciduous leaves. Well adapted to sandy soils; tolerates highly alkaline conditions. An important browse plant in alkaline areas and very succulent in the spring. Shows rapid regrowth when browsed. Useful for stabilizing disturbed sites.
